Ray & Dahlia - Sudbury, Ontario wedding photography

Words will most likely fail to describe the gratitude Blake and I feel to have been invited to photograph Ray and Dahlia's wedding day in Sudbury, Ontario - a quaint town North of Toronto.  Ray and Dahlia live in Australia, but since she grew up in Ontario, they decided to have a wedding in Canada and then another wedding in Australia for their friends in Brisbane. Genius!  Dahlia is a graphic designer extraordinaire and designed a double invitation to both weddings... and I'm pretty much in love with it (see below).

This wedding was one of the most romantic, intimate, beautiful occasions I've had the joy of photographing.  The wedding was held in the bride's backyard, with the ceremony near the garden and the reception in a white tent down by the lake. Everything from the wedding cake, to the flowers, to the invitations were completely made by the bride & groom and their family and friends. It was perfectly, uniquely THEM... and it was so refreshing.

The sunlight in Canada is indescribable and absolutely magical... it adds this lovely hue to every image that you can't recreate in any digital program. I'm obsessed.

To all the Australian groomsmen and family, to the kind Canadian friends and parents, to the folk band, to the next door neighbor with the goldens, to Dahlia and Ray: you are some of the most genuine people I've been able to work with- you better let us know when you fly through Dallas! Miss y'all already! J
